Ontario is the largest customer base in canada for electricity and the nuclear energy fleet supplies the majority of electricity in the province (doluweera, fogwill, hosseini, mascarenhas, nduagu, sow & The nuclear energy fleet is aging, and the infrastructure requires costly reinforcements and renovations (doluweera et al. , 2019). The investments associated with maintaining and updating the electricity system with inevitably create new costs for consumers (weis & partington, 2011).
