Healthy seniors >64, screened for lifelong paterns of exercise training (endurance) Sedentary exercised no more than 1/week during the previous 25 years (1 session=30min) Recruited from ccls (cooper center longitudinal study: healthy subjects saying they exercise for past 20 years. Sedentary populaion recruited from senior groups such as bingo, gardening, volunteer non cooper clinic. All subjects went through screening protocol: medical history and physical examinaion, no illness, tobacco use, diabetes, hypertension (135/85)
