Suite of integrated software modules and a common central database. The database collects information from many different divisions within a firm and from a large number of business processes in manufacturing & production, accounting, sales, marketing, hr, finance. In this way, information collected from one process is available and can be accessed by other processes in the firm. It is built around thousands of predefined business processes that reflect best practices. It is a set of integrated modules of applications such as sales & distributions, financial accounting, materials management, plant maintenance, hr etc. that allows data to be used by multiple functions and business processes. Financial and accounting processes: includes general ledgers, ap, ar, assets, cash management, tax accounting etc. Hr processes: hiring/firing, payrolls, compensations, workforce planning etc. Manufacturing & production processes: inventory management, contracts, shipping, purchasing, quality control, transportation etc. Sales & marketing processes: order processing, credit checking, billing, sales planning etc.
