Resources: a general term that incorporates human resources, natural resources, and inancial resources. At one point managers used to be called bosses, they told employees what to do, used reprimand when things were done incorrectly. Today management is more progressive, they are educated to guide, train, support, moivate, and coach employees instead of tell them what to do. Most modern companies" (tech irms) recognize that employees probably know more than they do so they encourage teamwork and cooperaion over discipline and giving orders. In the pat employees were expected to work a job for a lifeime but now people quit more as they career paths change and companies tend to layof easier (trust, long-term relaionships are gone). Transparency between managers and employees is also emphasized now. Peter drucker says managers ive direcion their organizaions, provide leadership, and decide how to use organizaional resources to accomplish goals.
