Ethics is more than legality: often times, unethical behaviour become more than just an issue of legality, it become about settlements. Often time after a company is nailed for unethical behaviour, it must pay a large amount to settle: westjet (15. 5m) No only for-profit businesses are accused of unethical behaviour. For example, government officials can also be implicated: calls for wrong voting stations in 2011. People sometimes seem to believe that whatever is the best for them is more important than acting ethically: ethics begins with each of us. Ethics - standards of moral behaviour, that is, behaviour that is accepted by society as right versus wrong. Managing businesses ethically and responsibly: ethics is commonly caught more than it is taught, and it is the management"s role to impact this trend: organizational ethics begin at the top of the company. Openness, fairness, honesty and moral integrity must be evident in order to establish trust and cooperation.
