Motivation: extent to which persistent effort is directed toward a goal. Effort: strength of the person"s work related behaviour or the amount of effort the person exhibits on the job. Persistence: that individuals exhibits in a applying effort to their work tasks. Goals: channeling persistent efforts in directions that are functional for the organization. Extrinsic motivation: stems from the work environment external to the task and is usually applied by someone other than the person being motivated pay, fringe benefits, company policies. Intrinsic motivation: stems from the direct relationship between the worker and the task usually self applied feelings of achievement, accomplishment, challenge, competence. Self determinator theory: consider whether people"s motivation is autonomous or controlled. Autonomous motivation: people are motivated by intrinsic factors in control of their motivation. Controlled motivation: people are motivated to obtain a desired unsequence or extrinsic reward their motivation is controlled externally.
