Forensic psychology: applicaion of psychology to the understanding of the law and applicaion of psychological principles to a legal proceeding. Psychological tests are used by forensic psychologists to assist them in forming scieniically sound and objecive opinions. Rules of evidence in federal and state courts deine who is an expert. Expert witness: a person who possesses knowledge and experise necessary to assist the ier of fact in understanding some important issue before the court: should advocate for objecive interpretaion and understanding of data.
