Women"s cycle (once every 28 days): ovum (one egg) bursts from one of the ovaries (lifespan = 1 day) Ovaries: walnut-sized organs located deep inside the abdomen: ovum travels down to one of the fallopian tubes. Fallopian tubes: long, thin structures that lead to the hollow, soft-lined uterus, where conception occurs: corpus luteum secretes hormones that prepare the lining of the uterus to receive a fertilized ovum. Corpus luteum: the spot on the ovary from which the ovum was released. If pregnancy does not occur, corpus luteum shrinks and the lining of the uterus is discarded 2 weeks later with menstruation. Stress has strong impact on menstrual cycle, reproductive system & release of egg when you have your menstruation. Male: produces 300 million sperms a day in the testes.
