Mass media: communications that target large audiences in print or electronic format, mass media are integrated into almost every aspect of our lives. Traditional media: books, newspapers, magazines, cinema, recordings, radio, television. New media: everything on the internet, electronic gadgets gaming consoles, mobile devices. Lots of coverage = perceived as more important: four properties of news narrative that contribute to frames and help create meaning by making certain aspects of news media more salient. Agency: the inclusion of particular words that suggest where responsibility for an event lies.
