Sociologists do not deny that individuals make choices or that they must take personal responsibility for those choices. View our own society as an outsider, rather than from perspective of our limited experiences and cultural biases. Be aware of the relationship between an individual and the wider society. Everyday social life (our thoughts, actions, feelings, decisions, interactions, etc. ) are the product of a complex interplay between societal forces and personal characteristics.
