Couples were child-centered - placing high value on children"s well-being, parenting is important and serious; spent most time away from work with children; their lives are planned around taking care of the children. Most agreed that women were disadvantaged in society but only 3 mentioned equal rights or the women"s movement as motivators for sharing chores. 1/4 by mothers only, 1/5 by fathers only; Managing versus helping mothers more likely to manage chores - they share most but still conform to traditional division of household labour (garbage - men; laundry - women)
