Instrumental values: preferable modes of behaviour or the means to achieving terminal values. Moral values: interpersonal focus, cheerful, brave, honesty, when violated you feel pangs of guilt/conscience. Competence values: personal focus, ambition, responsible etc. when broken we feel inadequate over guilty. Prosocial-active: protection or enhancement of the welfare of others. Restrictive conformity-restraint: actions and impulses likely to harm others and to violate sanctioned norms. Ethical values: directly relate to beliefs concerning what is right and proper.
