Governance is associated with power, authority, control and high level policy. Sport governance occurs mainly on 3 levels making in organizations: local, national. Differences exist between governance structures in canada and the us the countries government in sport also differs. Chelladurai lists several attributes of an organization. As you see these very simplified examples, organizations are formalized entities with rules about mission, membership, structure, operation and authority. Organizations have regulatory power over members, enforce rules and impose punishments. Different government bodies posses this sanctioning power to different degrees. They must anticipate changes that their external and internal environments, before they must react.
