Document Summary
Chapter 4 notes: ethics in sport organizations- september 23, 2016. The following are ethical considerations for sport managers: Unesco has a code of sports ethics and states that responsibility for ethical behaviour lies with those who are involved with sports for children and young adults including: (1) governments at all levels and the agencies that work with them. (2) sports and sports-related organizations including sports federations and governing bodies. (3) individuals including parents, teachers, coaches, referees, officials, sport leaders, athletes who serve as role models, administrators, journalists, doctors and pharmacists. All sport managers are responsible for ethical behaviour, and the higher one moves up in the organization the greater that responsibility becomes.
