Assessing health at a cellular level by making sure cells have enough oxygen & glucose. Assessing health at an individual level by promoting exercise and good nutrition as leading to a healthier lifestyle. Assessing health at a population level by developing a strategy that will address the needs of the population, not those of specific individuals. Benefits of pop. health measures: compare pops across space & time, follow a pop over time. 3 different categories of measures of health at a pop level: direct measures of health: measures of actual health statuses such as disease states of an individual or pop. Ex: gross domestic product (gdp), average life expectancy, number of practising physicians.
