A creature that uses blood for its main source of nutrients. Lives in seclusion, possibly darkness which causes its skin to be pale. Zombie is a creature that is not living / risen from the dead. Maybe used as symbols of afterlife/ everlasting life. Motor skills impaired, slow moving (at time they weren"t dancing) Plays on fear of humans of the dark and dying. Whether race was intended, in 2018 race is a factor. Response to situation is to hide in the cellar and wait until problem goes away by itself p20. In i am legend, robert does similar things: he stays in his house, fortified, thinking that is the safest place to be. Also i see him in ben p19: articulate, intelligent, tries to rationalize the situation, vital man caught in bad circumstances. Ben whose ultimate demise is similar to robert"s: both have given up in a sense.
