Analogy- way of talking about god when you can"t speak directly about his infinite mystery: affirm he is good, can"t understand this goodness so we negate it, reaffirm it as divine goodness. When the circumstances of human culture inevitably change, so do experiences of divinity. What are elizabeth johnson"s ground rules for the journey in thinking theologically: the reality of the living god is an ineffable mystery beyond all telling, we can never understand god, no expression of god can be taken seriously. God is too great a mystery for us to properly define: we see the necessity of giving god many names but no one term can define him. Symbiosis- a relationship that mutually benefits both groups, catholicism and the bible work with each other and grow with each other.
