It takes a lot to surprise people here: media has to go to further extremes to get a reaction from the reader. Lack of closure: don"t know who the narrator is or what gender he/she is, first person narrative makes it subjective. There"s no universal truth, just individual truths: narrator goes through stages in his reactions. First, how could they do this to me. Where does the soul appear to reside in p. c. Jersild"s a living soul: not a clear answer. Goes up into the camera at one point. Every time they erase his memory, he changes a little bit.
