Assimilation- cultural change in which a culture is thoroughly acculturated, or decultured, and is no longer distinguishable as having a separate identity. Theories and models of development (5: modernization- model of change marked by economic growth through industrialization and market expansion, political consolidation through the state, bureaucratization, market economy, technological innovation, literacy and options for social mobility.
