Okonkwo: in achebe"s book tfa, okonkwo is the son of a weak and lazy father unoka, whom okonkwo tries his hardest to be disassociated with by showing his hyper- masculinity. He sheds his father"s status and becomes a wealthy, successful, and highly ranked member of the umuofia. However, his intense need to not look weak like his father turns out to be his achilles heel when the colonizers turn up, and he starts to behave rashly. In the end, okonkwo hangs himself as the colonizers have truly ruined his life. Nwoye: the oldest son of okonkwo, as seen in achebe"s tfa. Okonkwo rights off his son, as he believes he is effected by the same weakness and laziness that plagued his father. Ezinma: t. f. a, only surviving kid of ekwefi daughter, okonkwo"s favorite kid weird because she"s a girl and okonkwo hates anything not masculine but she understands him better than anyone else.
