The material covered during class time will be on the exams. Also, pop quizzes can be given at any time during any class. Thus, attending class will allow you to gain as many extra points from the quizzes as possible. Remember, you have to take at least 7 out of the 10 pop quizzes to receive the points you accumulate! We cannot cover all of the material from the chapters during class due to time constraints. Reading the textbook chapters will help you fill in gaps in your notes from class as well as provide more examples. There will also be questions directly from the textbook readings on the exams. Some of the lectures will have additional readings (research articles) that will correspond to the lecture material. When you read them you should try to make connections with the material from the lecture. There will be questions directly from these readings on the exams as well!
