Document Summary

You are the defendant of a horrible murder case, the client confesses, what do you do: lawyer wouldn"t examine him, the client would just be cross examined, timing is critical. What if judge doesn"t let you out: you continue to ask out and worst come to worst you just do nothing. Constitutional law-dfn: us constitution is the supreme law of the land and all state and local governments must abide by it. Two components, institutional component-powers of three branches of government and separation of powers. Adopted in 1781, each of the 13 states agreed to delegate certain powers to a central government while still retaining their individual independence and sovereignty-> that was the problem. They only had powers that were expressly delegated. No power to tax, regulate interstate commerce, no revenue. 1787 was the first constitutional convention to amend and fix the articles, they realized that wouldn"t work. Sept. 17 1787, new constitution was signed.
