Result of extinction and has a negitive effect on several aspects of human well being-food, security, etc as well as access to clean water and raw materials: extirpation. Specides died out in local area but it lives elsewhere. Ex: grizzley bears- once lived in every state in western us and mexico- reported by lewis and clark and now are extinct in most areas of 48 states and canada. Ex: pere david"s deer- only found in zoo"s in china now: ecological extinction. Species is so rare it has no effect on its eco system. Known as the living dead : biological impovrishment loss of variety in the biosphere when species have not gone completely extinct.
