The y-cdb provides daily after-school programs and weekly family education at four elementary schools in the long beach community. These four schools are in need of community development, human service, and especially education. Y-cdb employees will be located at the schools to work with the principals, school staff, families and community organizations to provide service coordination and assimilation. The development of the program will be designed by parents, residents, advisory boards, and the school"s agency staff which will consist of assessment, communication and program ideas. Cdb program for the long beach community is to enhance children"s academic, social and health competencies, and to increase family involvement both in school and out of school.
