Landscape architecture is a professional design discipline that deals with integrating people and outdoor environment in a manner beneficial to both . The art of design, planning, or management of the land and arrangement of natural and man-made elements through application of cultural and scientific knowledge with concern for resource conservation and stewardship. It involves the planning, design, preservation and restoration of the landscape of applying art and science as well as technology to achieve the best use of our land resources. Types of landscape: wilderness or rural landscape, suburbia or suburban landscape, city or urban landscape. Landscape architecture profession and the application of art, science, and technology. Art: design of the landscape, development of space, creation of sense of place and sense of community. Science of engineering and form: descriptive geometry, engineering principles of grading, drainage, roads and structures. Natural resources science: climate, ecology, soil characteristics, plant materials.
