Early swing style: still a 2 beat feel on this recording. His band from the mid 20s was the predecessor to the big band instrumentation that would develop in many groups over the coming. Probably one of the partyingest bands there ever was duke ellington. 1927 don redman leaves the band and fletcher becomes the arranger.
