Author can remember boys driving past her and barking at her with derogatory remarks and she believed them. Was always told that parts of her wasn"t good enough. Man lied about calling the woman beautiful in the street. Author said that when she bought the camera she realized she bought a weapon--a tool to record the moments in which men turned their aggression onto her with acts of masculinity. Men tell her that she shouldn"t be wearing revealing clothing because they expect men to respond-- it"s human nature , i"m a man . Older men would smile at her, make her feel belittled/embarrassed. White men look at her like she"s exotic, some type of mixed person, hey you half white bitch . Most people look single when they walk by . Men felt very uncomfortable and turned quite aggressive when they were being interrogated based on their behavior. Doesn"t understand how a comment that someone else makes them feel good.
