Troubles vs issues: troubles are personal and issues are societal, issues can be experienced individually but can also ripple into societal problems. Norms can be codified laws, and/or socially constructed and reinforced: students don"t cheat on tests; teachers don"t mistreat students, patients pay for medical services, people are expected to abide by laws. Depicts a person that is experiencing struggles. Issues are connected to broader problems that can be structural. People who break social norms are often considered deviant. Social systems individuals: cycles of socialization, commercial depicting how girls are seen before and after puberty that highlights the way socialization molded the saying like a girl as an insult, socialization is: Like a girl - film: pervasive, socially enforced, self-perpetuating, both visible and invisible. Identity is not a monolith: the concept of identity is a complex one, shaped by individual characteristics, family dynamics, historical factors, and social and political contexts. We operate in different spheres that influence our identities.
