Research and data: a scientific process that involves the systematic and careful collection of data. Studies must be replicated and extended upon. Hypothesis: people who drink alcohol will tend to display poorer coordination than those who do not drink any alcohol. Research:measure one group"s coordination after drinking alcohol;measure another group"s coordination after drinking water. Three main study types: descriptive, correlational, experimental. Researchers watch and record how people behave as they normally would. Research is not a part of situation. Researcher is a part of the situation.
