They help clients be more aware of why they are behaving a certain way. Give them more understanding, to help them figure out what to decide next. Therapists help w/ clarity, but do not have control or make decisions for them. Want to get deep inside for more understanding. Psychodynamic perspective - we are born w/ bad behaviors & need to be socialized to get better.
