Biological definitions of family include: family traits and genetic predispositions. Legal definitions: important to child custody, inheritance, insurance etc. Teach kids how to communicate and act in a public v. private setting. Raising kids comfortably takes more than one income. What does it mean to behave like a family . In mine we don"t fight/bicker with one another and normally: personal sit in peace while we do our own thing. Family of origin versus family of choice. Family of origin is who you were raised with. Family of choice is the family you choose to take on. Those in your family that may not be officially blood/adopted in but you see them as family anyway.
