Relativistic cultural relativism is the idea that different cultures need to be understood in their own terms and not according to the standards and values of others: the opposite of ethnocentrism. Comparison comparisons of cultures or adaptations to determine similarities and differences of people across the globe and through time for generalization and prediction when possible: culture vs. archaeological culture.
