Protects all sides of the tendon from friction. Wrist, ankle, fingers and toes: bursea- saclike structures that alleviate friction around some joints (shoulder and knee) covers ligaments. Filled with some fluid similar to synovial fluid and found between skin and bone, tendons and bones, muscle to bone, and ligaments to bone. Know what a ligament is: ligament- connects bone to bone.
