Empiricism: a systematic investigation to verify observations, knowledge comes from evidence, fundamental component of scientific method. Comparison group: enables us to compare what would happen both with and without the thing we are interested in, only a systematic comparison can show you whether your mood improves when you have a neuro drink. Different types of articles: empirical paper, original research results, review article, organize, evaluate or synthesize the literature, recommend new research areas, meta-analysis, conducts statistical analysis to make inferences about articles reviewed, commentary, constructive analysis of published work. Authors individuals should be given credit for their study contributions. Abstract brief summary of study results, used to determine whether the article is worth reading.
