Biblical archaeology exam 2 review: main culture of chalcolithic period. Named after where it was first found: teleilat ghassul. Wadi nahal= dry river bed: wadi- arabic. Large rectangular space sometimes accompanied by a side chamber: 3. 5 x 12 m at teleilat ghassul, 6 x 15 m at golan heights, ossuary burials. Special pottery containers for bones: bone box , second burial. Sometimes human shaped elements (i. e. noses) found on outside and architectural design as well: made of ceramic for the most part except for 2 found in ben shemen made of stone, ben shemen. 2 large stone ossuaries found in collapsed cave. Had multiple burials in each stone- many bodies: sub-cultures: Ivory statuettes: male and female figures found- no mouths, large nose, venus of beer sheva . Represents a seated, naked female holding a churn on her head and a vessel under her arm.
