First, here are some questions you can test yourself on and an outline of chapters 3 and 4. (note this is not a complete list). Then an outline of essential info from chapters 3 and 4 follow. Approximately 15% of couples suffer from infertility, the inability to conceive after 12 to 18 months of trying. In men, infertility is typically a result of producing too few sperm. In women, the most common reason for infertility is failure to release an egg through ovulation. Some difficulties are corrected with medication and/or surgery or procedures (eg ivf). A miscarriage known as a spontaneous abortion occurs when pregnancy ends before the developing child is able to survive outside the mother"s womb.
