Functions: heliodon: a device to simulate shade, shadows, sun penetration, and solar access on a scale model simulates relationship between sun and building three variables that affect this relationship are latitude, time of year, and time of day has a light source, ground plane, three angle adjustments for light to strike. o site analysis for determining solar access o design of the building form o design of specific features such as shading devices o analysis of alternative designs o presentation either live or through photographs or videos.
