It covers the topics of electricity and magnetism, optics, and modern physics which includes relativity, The textbook, homework, and exams will not make use of calculus, but lectures may include some simple derivatives and integrals to provide elucidation of some topics. Lectures will be on tuesdays and fridays during 10:35-11:30am and 12:15-1:10pm in the. You may attend either of the two identical lectures on each day, irrespective of which recitation section you"re registered in. The lectures will be given by prof. george horton. The topics of each lecture are listed on the syllabus page, together with which sections of the book you should read (preferably before lecture, and again after it) and the conceptual problems you should think about.
