It was founded after the period of the witch craze. The witch craze was just a scheme by the people of the church to get rich, since the inquisitors would not only take away the witch, but keep their property as well. A bunch of people accused others of witchcraft deliberately to increase their own power, to get rid of enemies, or to get rich. The government used it to increase their influence and to show off their power. It was the most popular and most plausible theory for a long time in the 20th century. The dominant group didn"t care about the minority group, a nd both groups lived in harmony. But in a period of social tension, beliefs of witches and such came out, and the majority used the minority as a scapegoat to fix things. People will mobilize against a scapegoat (someone weak enough to get rid of, but dangerous enough to be afraid of).
