Of their feelings, that there is a truth and severity to their emotions and pain/suffering. Someone who knows the pain, and due to that, wants to help, and is able to help. In order to be compassionate you need to know pain. Guiding ethical principles of medicine: do no harm. Failed to do something that they were supposed to do.
