For aquatic biomes, know the different percentages that represent salt water and freshwater (including the different components of freshwater). Know the different processes that can create lakes. Know the difference between eutrophic and oligotrophic lakes. Review the different zones present in each of the aquatic habitats. Know the definitions of each hierarchical level of ecology (e. g. , what is a population?) Know the niche concept definitions, rules, etc. Have an understanding of the different population growth models (i. e. logistic and exponential). Be able to distinguish between the different types of survivorship curves. Be able to differentiate between density-dependent and density-independent regulators of population size.
