High consensus: if someone behaves in a way that most other people would, we make a situational (external) attribution. Consensus do individuals perform or behave similarly when in a similar position: example: do others turn up late for class that day, example: everybody in the audience is laughing. If only frank is laughing, consensus is low. Low consistency: if someone behaves differently to how they normally do, we expect something external has caused the behavior. Consistency is there a change in behavior or results on this task by this person: e(cid:454)a(cid:373)ple: he"s al(cid:449)a(cid:455)s like that, example: does the person always turn late for this class, example: frank always laughs at this comedian. Frank rarely laughs at this comedian, consistency is low. If this action is not unusual, it will be judged as internal: ex: is it only this class, or does the person turn up late for other classes too, ex: frank only laughs that this comedian.
