I decided to attend lsu opera"s production of sweeney todd: the demon barber of. Fleet street on the opening night, november 12th. Unsure about how i feel about operas, i attended with pessimism because i initially thought that i would not be drawn into this production. Contrary to my expectations, i was absolutely blown away by the set design, the actors" and actresses" performance, and the overall chilling experience. This production has certainly changed my view of theater as a whole, and has confirmed that theater can in fact be an extraordinary and exciting experience. When i entered shaver theatre, i immediately could tell the tone of the play. I had heard of sweeney todd before, but never had i seen it in a performance or in a movie. I noticed how dark and eerie the set was from the moment i looked up from my seat.
