Social structure: status symbols, positive- wedding ring, negative- breathalyzer in car. Status inconsistency: statuses usually blend well, leads to smooth social interactions, status inconsistency sometimes occur, problem with inconsistency- you are ostracized, 14 year old on a college campus- feel weird- not many. 20 year olds want to hang out with a 14 year old.
