Document Summary
The study of theology and philosophy has become increasingly difficult to define; as eastern continues to meet western thought, and science becomes increasingly more advanced, it seems that the study of truth has forever departed from the comforts of. It may seem that the study of these sciences is like wading into a deep and dark unknown, where one never knows what they will encounter. Austin farrer, simply put, provides a breath of fresh air into modern day doubts. He uses pure reason and the natural sciences to make a claim for god. He does not duck from the curveballs that developments of science have to throw at him. He instead incorporates them into his thought and uses them to point to a deeper understanding of truth. While farrer does this almost flawlessly, he does avoid the confusing topic of the evolution of the soul; unfortunately academia could have benefited from his insight on the topic.
