These groups materialized their efforts in reform houses, the temperance movement, etc. Some of the successes of the idea of republican motherhood include the expansion of education for women to include the classical curriculum (latin, greek, history, philosophy, etc. ), but did not include women being taught science it was thought to be improper for a woman to be taught science.
