If you try to resolve a dispute on interest you need to know the needs, desires, concerns, and fears that underlie why they got in a dispute: this is a collaborative negotiation, rights. Interest is thought to be superior to the other 2 because both parties should get what they want and you have a high level of satisfaction: rights vs. power, both of these approaches create winners and losers. These negotiations produce what is known as a collective bargaining agreement. Employers can mark what the employees are filing grievances over, and what department they are coming from so they can bring about change to make it better.
