Individual: world population continues to increase, aging society- people live longer, older people working because. Demand for labor, not enough young people to fill jobs. Mandatory retirement ended: age discrimination act of 1986. Defined contribution plans began to replace defined benefit plans: people control their retirement plans and this is an incentive to work longer.
