Heraclitus of ephesus (540-480 bc)- only thing that doesn"t change is change itself. He says the cause of change are the nature of things. Empedocles of acragas (490-430 bc)- he said there are for elements (earth, fire, air, and water)- said fire and air go up, earth and water go down. Said everything is a combination of these elements. Says these combinations are created by love and strife (opposite of love)
