Final exam: chapters 12-20 & chapter 10 (only 2 questions from ch. This test will consist of 50 questions, a mixture of multiple choice and true/false. Read each chapter, the power points should be used as a guide for interpreting the material. Know key terminology in each chapter; be able to identify examples of terms. Anything discussed in class is fair game for the final. Use the main ideas/sections below to help guide your review of the material. Be familiar with anatomical structures of the brain and their function, such as the four lobes, broca"s area, wernicke"s area, cortex, cerebrum, primary motor cortex . (review power point) Be familiar with types of strokes and the specific signs of an impending stroke. When given a language sample of a patient"s speech, determine rather it is characteristic of broca"s or wernicke"s aphasia. Have an understanding that language comprehension/production is a complex skill that is largely controlled via brain/central nervous system.
